Soccer Specific Training
Spring Open Field (Free): June 6 and 7 from 3:00 - 4:15 on the upper grass field & June 13 from 11:30 - 12:45 on the Stadium Field. Let’s get a little time together on the pitch prior to our first game in Gresham Summer League. These are not required in order to participate in Gresham Summer League. This is also a great way to get some exercise and sunshine in to make your brain work better for the end of the year.
Summer Soccer Open Field (Free): June 20 - July 20, Tues from 6 - 8pm and Thurs from 8 - 9:30am
Build team cohesiveness, technical skills and tactile knowledge by participating in off-season practices. Open-Fields will include touch work, passing work, small-sided and/or whole field scrimmages with coaching and feedback from DDHS Mens and Womens Coaches.
Gresham 6 V 6 Summer League (Free): June 14 - July 12, Wed from 5 - 7pm, please arrive 15 minutes prior to game time for warm-ups.
Join your teammates in small-sided scrimmages at Gresham HS. Please wear a red shirt, black shorts, shin guards and cleats. Make sure to bring water. Carpools can be arranged as needed. No drills, just warm-up and play. Coaches will be in attendance.
Fitness & Agility
Summer Athletic Competition Class (Free): June 22-30 and July 6-18, Mon - Fri from 9-11am
Earn an elective PE credit and get in soccer form through weight-lifting, speed and agility work, and a classroom component by attending 14 out of the 16 days offered. Even if you cannot make 14 days, you can still drop in when you are available. This is the best way to increase your physical fitness - strength, speed, and stamina - prior to the start of the season. The Girls Soccer Program will not be offering a separate time to work on fitness outside of Summer Athletic Comp. If you need an individual training program, please contact McQueen for ideas.
Middle School and High School Conditioning Camp ($20, includes the cost of a t-shirt):

Depending on numbers, we may have to cut athletes for the 2023 season. This mostly impacts incoming seniors as they are currently not allowed to play JV (though we are pushing for this to happen). We will begin the cut process on Tuesday, August 15th if needed. This aligns with boys soccer cuts in the past.
August Practice Schedule:
Teams will be split (JV and Varsity) by 8/21. Please note: Practice begins August 21st and is held every week day and some Sundays through the end of the season in OCTOBER. Players are expected to be at all tryout days and practices. Please do not tryout if you cannot commit to attending both practices and games throughout the season.
Physicals and Clearance:
Players must be cleared by the Athletic Office through the online system in order to tryout. Clearance includes DDHS athletic paperwork, physical, grade check and $100 player fee. All incoming 9th and 11th grade players must have physicals dated after June 1, 2023 to be considered current. Sorry, no exceptions.
